- Youth Development
Our strength-based youth development services include after-school programs—with case management—for seventh through twelfth graders in targeted Syracuse neighborhoods, a weekly call-in radio show for teens, and parent support and education.
- School-based Services
We help schools improve the learning environment through prevention and early intervention programs that address barriers to learning. Our workshops for students teach social emotional skills, including communication, teamwork and respecting differences.
- Community Collaborations
Currently, we are working with school and community partners to improve the delivery of mental health services to students. We are also coordinating a community-wide initiative to address issues of poverty.
- Training and Consultation
Our staff serves as advisers to many schools and school districts to implement school-wide systems that reduce or prevent discipline problems. We are also a resource for training on behavioral and mental health issues, crisis response, parenting education and more.
- Telephone Services
Contact’s 24-hour hotline provides confidential counseling for people of all ages. It is also Onondaga County’s (NY) designated suicide and crisis intervention hotline. The Youth Emergency Services for Mental Health hotline provides information and access to mental health services for children 18 years of age and younger in Onondaga County.
