Suicide Prevention Training
Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention / 60 minutes
Recommended for: Any interested community members; parents, friends, neighbors; teachers; ministers; doctors, nurses; office supervisors, caseworkers; firefighters; and many others.

Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention is a 60-minute, community-based presentation that covers the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what people can do to fight suicide. Attendees will learn the risk and warning signs of suicide, and how together, we can help prevent it.

QPR Gatekeeper Training /60-90 minutes

Recommended for: Any interested community members (parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, ministers, doctors, nurses, office supervisors, caseworkers, firefighters, and many others).

Like CPR for the heart, QPR is a life-saving measure. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer.

safeTALK / 2.5 hours

Recommended for: Any interested community members (parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, ministers, doctors, nurses, office supervisors, caseworkers, firefighters, and many others).

Most people with thoughts of suicide "invite" help to stay safe. safeTALK trains participants to become "suicide alert." Alert helpers recognize those "invitations" and know how to use these opportunities to support that desire for safety.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) / 15 hours (two days)

Recommended for: Hotline counselors, emergency service workers, mental health practitioners, clergy and other caregivers and community members. Minimum age 16 years.

The in-depth and interactive ASIST workshop teaches skills used on the Contact Hotline and National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, including risk assessment and intervention for people at high or immediate risk of suicide.
